Since first becoming interested in architecture in 1970, Randolph C. Henning has been fanatically interested in the creative life work of the American architectural genius Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as architecture and architects that have affinity with Wright.
Randolph C. Henning is researching the creative life work of the architect Alfred Browning Parker, FAIA for publication purposes. The eventual monograph will present the architectural masterworks of this South Florida architectural icon.
Since January 2001 Randolph C. Henning, Architect has been the Associate Architect for Contract Administration for Aaron G. Green & Associates, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) at the American Hebrew Academy, located in Greensboro, NC. The American Hebrew Academy is a pluralistic boarding school for 800-1000 high school students. Aaron G. Green, FAIA (a protege of Frank Lloyd Wright) designed the entire master plan and the seventy plus buildings for the 100 acre campus. The American Hebrew Academy graduated its first senior class in 2004 and its state-of-the-art campus continues to expand based upon the vision presented by Green.
Randolph C. Henning authored the book AT TALIESIN: NEWSPAPER COLUMNS BY FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT & THE TALIESIN FELLOWSHIP 19324-1937 (published in 1992 by the Southern Illinois University Press, Carbondale, IL). Out of the more than 285 columns that were featured in southern Wisconsin area news papers, 112 are printed in this book along with additional commentary and related material. The book presents an intimate glimpse of what life was like during these crucial years in the life of Frank Lloyd Wright and his Taliesin Fellowship.
Randolph C. Henning continues to independently and enthusiastically pursue his avid interest in the life work of the famous and often times infamous Frank Lloyd Wright and continues to research, write articles and present lectures on Wright, early American and organic architecture, and the like.
In June 1992, Randolph C. Henning assembled and held an exhibit of original posters from his own private collection celebrating the 125th anniversary of the birth of Frank Lloyd Wright. WRIGHT ON SIGHT was held in a local Winston-Salem (NC) gallery.
